Church of Agia Paraskevi in Nea Krini

Agia Paraskevi was the patron saint of the settlement of Cesme (Turkish Fountain) in the province of Smyrna. In 1948, a fundraising committee was set up for the construction of a new church, however the financial situation of the parishioners, the majority of whom were fishermen, did not help in its short completion. The inauguration took place on October 11, 1955 by the Bishop of Talanti, Father Stefanos. In the new church they also placed the miraculous icon of Agia Paraskevi, which the refugees brought from Cesme, Smyrna. During the evening of her celebration, the icon was paraded, in which Aristotle’s band participated.
